“We need acts of restoration, not only for polluted waters and degraded lands, but also for our relationship to the world.”

- Robin Wall Kimmerer in her book Braiding Sweetgrass

I’ll be co-leading a family-friendly art workshop with my friend Graci Horne (Dakota / Lakota) at Water Bar & Public Studio. This workshop will explore our kinship with plants, water, and the places we come from. We’ll share stories about our present and familial / historic relationships with land and water, and will ask how we can repair those relationships that have been broken or degraded, starting with the stories we tell ourselves, our families, and our communities, about our responsibility to those who sustain us. I’ll be sharing about the Overburden / Overlook project and adjacent projects related to the proposed Line 3 oil pipeline. Together, we will allcreate "kinship flags" to help us remember our kinship stories and relationships at home and in the wider world. Here are the details!
